Mission: Exhibits on the origin, history and manufacture of various kinds of kimch'i: old-time, regional, and seasonal styles; those used in palaces, temples, and homes, and those composed of various ingredients. Includes historic relics of kimch'i; miniature models of kimch'i-making processes, such as fermentation; various types of kimch'i crocks and wooden containers and storerooms; along with Korean traditional kitchen utensils also used to prepare kimch'i. Some of the exhibits have interactive components for tasting and smelling. There are reference rooms, old and contemporary books and other writings, and paintings.
