Mission: This museum was founded by the Animal Commerce and Meat Processing Trust in 1976. The National Meat Processing Research Institute began to collect historical records, objects, machinery, and equipment in 1970. In 1990 the collection was moved to a modern 20th-century building.There is a permanent collection of the history of meat processing in the Carpathian Basin which illustrates the gradual improvement in the butchers' profession by the latter half of the 19th century. Interesting objects include guild chests, one from 1790 and one from 1825. Another, dated 1870, is labeled "Lorevi Butcher shop.". There is a butcher's stall that was erected in the years between the two World Wars; a Heikana "salamipasta" chopping machine made during the 1950s, and a "kutter."

Mission: A "szarazkolbasz" (dry sausage) factory was founded between the two World Wars by Andras Steberl. At that time, in addition to the factory, dry sausage was being made in almost every home in Gyula. In 1987 the factory established this collection to show the history of "Huskombinat" (meat-processing equipment) and to exhibit its products.

Mission: To present the history of Wells Dairy, founded in Le Mars, Iowa, in 1913 by Fred H. Wells, Jr., which claims that more ice cream is produced there by a single company in one location than anywhere else in the world. The History Room features the history of ice cream with an exhibition on the Wells family, the company, and historical photos and vintage factory production line, a vintage 1920s ice cream parlor, and interactive computers for a hands-on approach.

Admission Info: Open May September, Monday Friday, 10 am 5 pm; Saturday, 10 am 4 pm; Sunday, 12 4 pm. From October April, only Tuesday Saturday, 10 am 4 pm. Admission fee. Guided tours of 20 or more by appointment.
